THE TANDEM COURSE

The Tandem Jump is really the best way to be introduced to the exciting sport of Skydiving. Instead of just making a parachute jump, you will experience Freefall!

Our staff of Instructors are very experienced and make sure that you have an enjoyable jump. We make all of our Student Jumps from over 2 miles high.

WHAT IS A TANDEM JUMP?

A Tandem Jump is an exciting form of first jump training using dual instruction that allows you to experience freefall on the first jump. On a Tandem Jump, you will be given a short training session on the ground (15 minutes) prior to boarding the aircraft. The Instructor will wear the parachute assembly and the student will wear a harness that attaches to the parachute assembly. The parachute is an over-sized square parachute designed to bring the weight of two people  down for a soft stand up landing.

WHAT HAPPENS FIRST?

After completing the training, the student and Instructor will take a short aircraft ride. At this time the Instructor will connect the student's harness to his with 4 parachute snaps at the shoulders and at the waist (The student's back will be against the Instructor's chest). The Tandem pair will then proceed to the door of the aircraft.

120 MILES PER HOUR STRAIGHT DOWN!

After leaving the aircraft, face to earth, the Tandem Pair will then enter the exciting world of freefall! They will accelerate quickly to 120 MPH. If the student is daring enough, and requests it, they may perform a series of loops and turns during the Freefall .

A CALM RIDE BACK TO EARTH!

At 4,500 feet, the Instructor will open the parachute. The winds of freefall will depart leaving a calm breeze and the relaxing 4 minute ride  back to earth. The Instructor will give the control handles to the student  and allow the student to start maneuvering the parachute back safely to the soft grassy landing area. During the decent, they will go through a series of turns and spirals. The Instructor and the student will be able to talk to each other as they practice for the landing. This will prepare the student to help slow the parachute's decent for a soft landing. As they approach the ground they will pull both control handles down and settle softly to the ground. The Instructor will disconnect the student and they will discuss the jump.

IS THIS SPORT FOR ME?

After being introduced to the sport of Skydiving by making a Tandem Jump, the student must then decide if he/she has the desire to continue. This sport has many things to offer to an individual. The exhilaration that you receive from every jump can not be compared with anything else you have ever experienced. Along with the excitement of the jump, this sport offers a great social atmosphere. The Instant and long lasting friendships you will make with other jumpers will follow you throughout your life in and out of the sport!

WHAT COMES NEXT?

After making a Tandem Jump you will be given a "Tandem First Jump Certificate". Along with it you will be given a brief introduction to what comes next. If you request it, you will be given a handout that describes in detail the
